| Welcome to The Rackheath Forum Although I have been associated with Rackheath since about 1975 (when I bought my first house in Old Rackheath) I have not lived there on a permanent basis. Nearly every summer we came home to live in the village and - as I have a bit of land there too, this is where I really feel at home. If anyone would care to start off with some useful information to the residents of both old and new Rackheath, they are welcome to write (on any subject!) I shall delete anything I consider distasteful. The actual address of the Forum is: www.maribelecosystems.com/rackheathforum.html A bit of a handful, I know, but it is a page on a website that I have had for several years. Of course you are welcome to look at the main site. and in the Personal Stuff there are a number of things that I am interested in and have written about there. I am the tree warden for Rackheath, too and I shall be writing more about this on another page when I get round to it. One of my pet hates is the obnoxious habit some people have of Fly Tipping. I have suffered from this on my land and recently there was a whole lot of concrete blocks dumped in the vicinity of Old Rackheath Church. The Church Warden and I cleared it away twice, however some of the blocks were of a quite distinctive design, with a diamond shape on the front and I have put a picture of one of them in the latest issue of the Rackheath Life. If you reconise the pattern or have asked a contractor to dispose of them for you - we would be interested to hear about it. I know it is due to the ever-increasing difficulty of proper disposal, but it entails a high cost to those who have to clear it up in the end to prevent our neighbourhood becoming a tip. There is no excuse for this and I am glad that the Council are becoming more aggressive towards offenders. I hope you will tell your friends about the forum, which could become a handy place to exchange local information. My best regards and wishes for Christmas and the New Year. Sincerely George Bell.
